Duct cleaning is still on the rise and their is still not very many people that know anything about it.  Usually  their  are  only a few companies that actually specialize in cleaning out Ducts. To find the best company it would probably be a smart idea for you to maybe look on the internet and type in your state and the city that you live in.

Once you have found a company that sounds decent you could get the phone number to the company and see whether you can trust them to come into your house or not.  An important thing to look for when you are searching for a Duct cleaning company is the tools they may use, if it seems as if they don’t have the right equipment then they might not be a good company.

In a recent conversation wtih Jay Thompson of Atlanta HVAC, a heating and air company in Atlanta, GA, I learned that a company that uses poor equipment can cause expensive damage to a home’s duct work.

The main tools a company should have is: a box van,  an Air compressor,a big vacuum, a ten inch vacuum hose, Air Whips , Air Hose,  a power drill , tin snips and so forth, The tools that they have on hand is very important because that determine whether they will do a good Duct cleaning or not.

To find a reliable Duct cleaning company you can also look in the phone book and find a good one, if you call the company and they do not sound very professional then they may not do a very good job. It is very important to look for people that are honest and trust worthy, otherwise you can have total strangers in your home that could possibly be stilling stuff without you even knowing it.

Also another thing to look for is the reputation of the company, if they have been around for a while then that means that they probably know what they are doing and they are not gonna catch your house on fire or hopefully not cause any trouble. To find a good Duct cleaning company it would also be good to look for people that are serious as you would look for in any company, but if they are not serious about it then the job may take them a very long time and they will probably be there when you are about to eat dinner!

So the best things that you would want to look for in a good Duct cleaning company is: the reputation in the company, they must have they right equipment to get the job done, they must also be professional.

It is very important to find a good Duct cleaning company if you need to get them cleaned because if not like I have mentioned before you could be wasting your money and also your time. So maybe talk to your friends or your relatives also and  they may know of a good company to clean your Ducts, but just make sure you find a good company for your own good.

Their are many reasons why the MotoBrush is not as useful as using an Air Compresser attached to an airwhip or Airhose ect.. One reason why is that it will not extend as far as a three hundred foot hose will.One of  the reasons it is so nice to have a very long Air Hose is so that you can reach the furthest areas in the Air Ducts and you won’t need to worry about not reaching the Trunk Line down below.

Another reason it is nice to have an Air Compresser hose with an Airwhip on the end of it is because you have a Whip  on  the end of the Air Hose that will slap  around and then it will  loosen up every peace of gunk  therfore you do not need to suck it all out of the vents upstairs with a vaccuum because you already have a vaccuum hooked up to the furnace so all of the garbage gets put into the Trunk Line and then  you  go into the crawlspace with the Airwhip and blow it all into the furnace and then it gets sucked into the vaccum into the truck, on the other hand with a MotoBrush you need to carefully  carry the machine around the house with you, therfore the prosses is a lot slower.

Sometimes in an Airduct System there will be gunk that is caked onto the Duct work and may be very hard to get off, in that case the Motobrush may clean all around the gunk but it will skip over whatever  may be stuck inside of the Duct, that is why the Airwhip comes in handy because it whips evrything instead of just  brushing it.

Using the Motobrush is useful therefore it will make the process of cleaning your Ducts a lot longer because you may need to spend a lot  longer of a time trying to get all of the stuff loose. Another advantage of using the Air Hoses is they have a smooth surface and they are very skinny in width, that will make it a lot easier for the person cleaning to slide the hoses down into the vents perhaps if the ducts have curves in them you won’t need to use all your might to push the hose down the ducts.

In my personal oppinion I will never switch from using the Air Compresser hoses, Air Whips , and the Airhoses to using the Motobrush because I know that if I did that I would be going a lot slower and probrobly not doing as thorough of a job as I was doing before, that is probrobly not a good thing when it already takes you about three or three and a half  hours or mabe even longer if it is a two or three story house otherwise, especialy if you have a couple more Duct jobs afterwords.

So What I am trying to say is that I would personaly recomend using an Aircompresser Hose and a ten inch wide vaccuum hose than using a very small Motobrush, only because it will leave you with cleaner Ducts.

If a person really wants to make his customer happy, he will try every thing he can to get every peace of dirt and garbage that is  possibly in your Duct system and also your furnace and make them as clean as possible, for example there are different types of  nozzles and hoses that you can use to reach curtain areas that you could not easily reach otherwise, he might also get lazy and not try as hard as he was at first to get everything. 

A good Duct cleaner will also do everything in his power to avoid damaging the corners of your walls, ruining your carpet, putting dents in the doors or even damaging the Duct work by not knowing what they are doing and also by not being careful.  Sometimes the workers could be to obsest with there timing rather than the well being of your home.

So that is just a couple of the ways you could be getting scammed without even knowing that it is happening. By the people not really caring about your house and just walking in there like it is their own and totally destroying it you may  be throwing a few hundred dollers away.

Another way people can be scamming you by “cleaning out your Ducts” is by not being responsible and simply forgetting there tools and by not having the right equipment but therefore trying to wing the job anyways maybe by not reaching all of the trash in your Ducts and then leaving it all in there for you! and you would not have any idea what they did when you hand them your four hundred dollars.

There are many scams that could be happening to you and then they come up stairs and act like everything went perfectly fine,  so in that case it would be a very good idea for you to do some research and try to  find out what a good Duct Cleaning company is in your area or else you may be getting scammed.

It is very good to be selective for Duct Cleaning companies because if you aren’t then you may also be losing money at the same time. Just to be sure, it would be of your own benefit to ask the Duct Cleaners how they will be doing there job and What type of tools they will be using, and they will be able to show you what type of tools they will be using and how they work.

Where I live there is are about six companies that actually clean Ducts but only a couple of them actually specialize in that type of work. The company that I work for is probrably the most thorough, one reason is because we have a ten inch very powerful vaccum hose that helps out a lot which a lot of the other companies don’t have.

So the point is that its very important to do research before you get your Ducts cleaned or else it is very possible that you could be getting scammed!

Some People [...]]]> Their are a lot of people who will buy a house and move into it and not even pay attention to the ducts, just as if they don’t even excist. In my personal experience I had no clue what a duct was untill I started cleaning them a while back.

Some People have no idea why they are sneazing, coughing or hacking before they go to bed at night. Air Ducts are easily unnoticed because they are usually underneath the house in the crawl space, Where a lot of people never really think of going down  too very much unless there house floods.

If you have whent through those same trials and have figured out that you could get your Ducts cleaned, then you are a smart person because it will make living in your home a much more enjoyable place to live in. Just think of it ! if you have little children or toddlers running around the house with there toys in there hands, wouldnt it only make sence that they would be curious and stick whatever they could find down the vents?

I know I did it and mabe you have to. But the point is when something gets put down the vent then it will go all the way down into the Duct work and get stuck and there is no way of  knowing that anything went down there unless you clean your Ducts. What about if your house was built in 85′? you could still have peaces of ply wood stuck in the Duct work from when your house was cunstructed, and then it could cut off the heat going into your house and then you will just  be waisting all of your money on the heating bill at the end of the month!

I was doing a duct job a few weeks ago and came across a rotten can of peaches, a cresent wrench, a dead rat ect. the list goes on and on what you can find in your Duct Work.  When you get your Ducts cleaned you also eliminate a very big fire hazard! wouldn’t you be mad if your house caught on fire, and then you found out that the fire was caused because all that needed to be done was your Ducts underneath of your house needed to be cleaned?

I know I would. Getting your Ducts cleaned will also increase the value of your home if you are trying to sell it. Suppose you are not getting very good heat upstairs, your Duct work underneath could be detached or very loose or even broken and you would  have never known that if you did not decide to get your Ducts cleaned out! 

Having  your whole duct system cleaned every three to five years will give you and your family many benefits whether it is finding things that you have lost twenty years ago and didn’t know where they went, or getting rid of all of the different types of molds and bacteria that have been growing over the years. A few weeks back I ran into a cliant and he said that he had notice a huge difference in the way his furnace was working after the first couple of  days getting his Duct system thoroughly cleaned.

So if you or any of your family members are having trouble with allergies or experiencing any other unusual problems and you have never gotten your Ducts cleaned, then It is vital that you look into your Duct system bieng cleaned !
